Robert Angus Gunn was born in Portvasgo Melness in 1911, son of John Gunn of Melness and Jessie Ross. They married in 1906 in Fraserburgh. Robert was married to Effie Janet Mackenzie, the sister of John A and John C Mackenzie who were both killed in the First World War and whose stories appear elsewhere on this website.
